Stunning and unusual Scottish salmon engraved rock crystal brooch. The salmon was specially carved by Ian Hammond of the Black Isle, to a Just Gems design, into a naturally included quartz cabochon from Brazil. It is set in a handmade mount using polished and ruthenium plated silver and 9ct yellow gold to created a very special brooch. The brooch has a safety clasp and measures 32mm wide by 58mm long and is 18mm deep.

We chose the quartz because it looked just like the clear waters of a fast-flowing Scottish salmon river with the various mica and iron mineral inclusions at the base representing the boulders and gravels of the river bed.
